DeSales Students Participate in Elections

DeSales Catholic School students took part in school wide election as part of their Social Studies curriculum. This mock election promotes civic responsibility and involvement by introducing and educating the students on the voting process. DeSales students in preschool and kindergarten through grade 8 had the opportunity to vote on an upcoming lunch choice (tacos in a bag or French Toast) and for an upcoming dress down day (silly hats or favorite t-shirt). DeSales teacher Linda Crofts coordinated the school wide voting and her third- grade students acted as Poll Workers and helped tally the votes. In a landslide victory, with 70% of the student vote, French Toast and favorite t-shirt were declared the winners.

DeSales is a regional Catholic school teaching students of all faiths from pre-school through eighth grade.  Located on Chestnut Ridge Road in Lockport, DeSales welcomes families from throughout Eastern Niagara and Orleans counties.  For more information visit www.desalescatholicschool.org
