The DeSales Catholic School swim team wrapped up their regular season in a match up against St. Benedict School this last weekend. A part of the Neumann Catholic Swim League, DeSales students as young as kindergarten make up the 28-person swim team.
This year the Knights are captained by 8th graders, Samantha Fox and Weston Henning. This duo has each earned Elite All Star times with Weston securing the honor by dropping 16 seconds in the 200 IM at the last team meet. Samantha will head to Royhart High School and Weston to Newfane High School next school year.
DeSales Swim Team Coordinator, Cally Couturier had this to say about the 8th graders, “Samantha and Weston are not only amazing swimmers, but truly great individuals. We know that they will succeed at whatever they take on and that they will be welcomed enthusiastically by their respective high school swim teams.”
With their regular season behind them, the swim team will move on to the Neumann Catholic Swim League Championships on Sunday, November 12th. Over 20 catholic schools from throughout the Diocese of Buffalo will compete at the Tonawanda Aquatic Center.
