Classroom Spotlight: Mrs. Chris Sheehan

Each Friday in Mrs. Sheehan’s 5th grade class, they read a publication called Magnifikid together. Magnifikid is essentially a missal for the week. 5th grader Shannon described this time in their classroom, “We read the gospels and weekly readings as a class from the Magnifier. Doing this activity really helps us understand what we are hearing in church.” In addition to the readings, Mrs. Sheehan provides the students with activities, like crosswords or word searches, that reinforce that week’s discussion. These readings and activities give the students an opportunity to ask questions about vocabulary or concepts they may not understand. Elizabeth Swartz went on to say, “I really enjoy the Magnifikid. We take turns taking the book home, that is my favorite part.” Way to go 5th grade!
