Fourth grade teacher, Mr. Joe Granchelli is combining his knowledge of art and mathematics to challenge his advanced math group. Students in this group were asked to use art straws and glow in the dark paint to take the math concepts they learned and create 3D art forms. This project helps with the metacognition process while reinforcing the match concepts the students learned. The metacognition process is the awareness of one’s own thought process or problem solving skills. The results: impressive pieces of art that teach a great math lesson! Great job 4th grade!
