DeSales Catholic
School is the 2nd largest elementary school
in the Diocese of Buffalo and the only Catholic school
in Eastern Niagara County. Located along the Niagara escarpment
in the town of Lockport, NY, DeSales offers a safe, faith-based
environment that fosters the intellectual, spiritual, emotional,
social and physical development of each student from Pre-school
through 8th grade.
DeSales
is a regional school that serves approximately 400 families from 14
parishes and 9 area school districts. There are 23 classrooms in Grades PreK – 8, as well
as four half-day 3- and 4-year old Pre School classes.
Approximately 84% of our student body is Roman Catholic.
DeSales students continue to outperform their public school peers
on national and NY State standardized tests. We maintain a state of the art Computer lab, a newly renovated
Science lab, and a Library with over 8,000 volumes staffed
by a full-time Librarian. DeSales offers Art, Music, and Spanish
classes for grades K-8. Students with special needs
receive Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational
Therapy services at DeSales provided by the Lockport City
School District. DeSales offers a wide variety of extracurricular
activities for our students including both Diocesan and Intramural sports leagues,
Ski Club, Chorus, Chimes, Odyssey of the Mind, Computer Club,
and Art Club, as well as a Broadway-style Musical each spring.
