The Administration at DeSales Catholic
School believes that a student’s attitude toward his/her
learning is often reflected in personal appearance. All students
in grades 1 through 8 are required to wear a uniform that
has been adopted by the school’s Education Council.
During
the winter months boys wear navy pants and white or blue dress
shirts. Belts are required for all boys, and neckties are required for boys in grades 5-8. Girls wear a traditional
plaid jumper (grades 1-4) or skirt (grades 5-8) or navy pants, and a white
or blue blouse. A summer uniform (navy walking shorts and
a DeSales polo shirt) is optional for all students during
warm weather months. Navy blue DeSales T-shirts and shorts or sweatpants
are worn on the students’ scheduled day for P.E. Click here to view the complete uniform specifications as outlined in the Student-Parent Handbook
Uniforms can be purchased
from Flynn & O'Hara School Uniforms. Representatives from Flynn & O'Hara visit DeSales every Spring and Summer to take
student measurements for orders. Click on this link to visit the Flynn & O'Hara website, or call them toll-free at 1-800-441-4122 to place an order by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Elements of our
uniform, such as navy pants or blouses and shirts, can also be
purchased in the School Uniform sections of area discount
department stores.
The DeSales Home School Association provides a Uniform Exchange
Program as an additional service to our families. There is no charge for this cooperative system, but inventory
will vary as supply and demand allows. Request forms for the
exchange are available in the main office, or you can click
here to download a printable version of the form. Donations
of gently used uniforms can be dropped off at the main office any school day.
Gym uniform orders
are placed twice a year (once in the Fall and once in the
Spring). Order forms are sent out in the weekly blue communication
envelopes. You can also check for gym uniform availability
through the Uniform Exchange Program.
