The DeSales Knights swim team finished the season in stellar fashion at the Neumann Catholic Swim League Championships this past Sunday at the UB Alumni Arena Natatorium.  The Knights were dominant in every aspect, from the 8 and under division through the 11 and older division.  Nineteen teams and 903 swimmers found out first hand what 32 focused and determined Knights can accomplish as a team.

The 8 and under division was victorious in both the 100 medley and 100 free relays.  Jordan Kirchberger, Dylan Lamont, William Swartz, and Cooper Zugelder teamed up both times to capture 1st overall in the previously mentioned relays.  In individual competition, Lamont won both the 100IM and the 25 breaststroke, Swartz won the 50 free and was 2nd in the 25 free.  Zugelder was 9th in the 25 free and 6th in the 50 free.  Other top finishers were Kirchberger finishing 4th in the 25 back and Samantha Fox finishing 10th in that race also.

The 9 and 10 division found success with Lydia Lamont as she finished 4th in the 50 free and 8th in the 50 breast.  Henry Genewick was also a top finisher for the division as he was 6th in the 50 free.

The 11 and older Knights finished the day as strong.  The quartet of Natalie Killion, Madison Fragale, William Rahill, and Aidan Morgan set new Neumann League records in both the 200 Medley Relay going 1:57.75 and the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:46.08 .  Both records had stood since 2006.

In individual competition, Killion won the 200 freestyle and tied for first in the 50 fly,  Morgan won both the 200IM and the 50 freestyle, Rahill finished 3rd in both the 50 free and 100 free, Fragale finished 3rd in the 50 breast and 5th in the 200 free.  Other top finishers for the Knights were Gracie Cordle who was 4th in the 50 breast and 10th in the 50 free and Elizabeth Swartz who was 9th in the 200 free and 8th in the 100 free.  Swartz and Cordle later teamed up with Nya Muffoletto and Jack Strong to finish 8th overall in the 200 free relay.

The Knights would like to thank the administration, team coordinator, coaches, parents, and those in the community that made this season successful.  The team would like to say thank you to team captains Will Rahill and Nya Muffoletto for their leadership and work that they displayed throughout the season.
