Summer Reading 2017
Over the summer, students entering grades 5 - 8 should select two books from the appropriate grade level list to read for English Language Arts class in the Fall.
In addition, Middle School students (entering grades 6-8) must select one book from the appropriate Social Studies grade level list and keep notes on the story as they read.
They should flag important or unusual passages, new vocabulary words, and anything else deemed important by the student. Students are asked to bring the books (or Nook, or I-pad, etc.) they selected to class in Sept. to facilitate discussion.
Books are available for purchase at local book sellers, and limited copies may be found at the public library, or in the DeSales school library. Contact Mrs. Rahill over the summer at email@example.com if you wish to visit the school library to look for a Summer Reading title.
